Advantage of solid machine frames

Massive machine beds are necessary when high precision is required for fast machining. Due to the high level of damping, mineral cast, polymer concrete and granite are the preferred materials for high-quality milling machines. The modern development of high-performance binders achieve a compressive strength of up to 180N/mm² with selected additives

By inserting threaded anchors, steel components, anchor rails, empty pipes or cables, there are no limits to the design options.

 

With precise formwork, surface accuracies in the 1/10 mm range are possible. Higher accuracies with evenness in the μm range require a subsequent processing step.  The required precision is achieved by molding special casting compounds against high-precision gauges.

From CAD planning to the finished machine

The CAD models are developed entirely in-house and checked using FEM analyses. All threaded anchors and metal inserts are planned in advance. This ensures a safe process flow. 

 

When the finished 3D CAD model of a milling machine is ready,

a negative mold is created virtually. This can be made from selected materials.  Thanks to a special coating on the molds, they can be used several times. Depending on the number of pieces, certain mold designs are used.

Necessary add-on parts, such as motor mount, Z-axis, energy chain holder are also manufactured in-house. The completion and adjustment is implemented with high-precision measuring equipment. This guarantees a precise machine. 

The electrical area is also completely covered. A CNC control consists of a higher-level control (computer) with special software. This is connected to the CNC control via Ethernet. The entire input / output from actuators and sensors is evaluated here. (Reference sensor, servo drives, safety circuit, etc.)

 

 High-resolution AC servo systems are used

   

    

Axis accelerations of up to 1g and a repeat accuracy of less than 0.01 mm can be achieved. The positioning resolution is 0.002 mm.

 

The maximum movement speed is 35m/min.    Depending on the mechanical and electrical components used, these values can be improved!  Des Furthermore, a large number of parameters on the part of the computer and servo controller play a major role.
